Long periods of rainfall possible today

Thursday, June 22, 2017 - 8:42am

Gulf Coast Moisture will be pumped into the area today and as it passes through the county could lead to long periods of rainfall. I am not looking for anything severe and in most cases the rainfall will be light. CAPE values are not to concerning for anything other than a few rumbles of thunder here and there.

Expect rainfall to move into the county around midday today. BY this afternoon and during the evening commute it will most likely be a wet mess around the area.

Not looking for a gully washer today but more of an inconvenient rainfall that just makes for a very yucky day around the county.

Accumulations of around a half of an inch or more is possible around the county. I wouldn't be surprised to see some areas get around an inch if a heavy downpour sets up over an area in the county. I will provide updates throughout the day and right here on social media as showers move through the county and the area. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
