Slight chance for rain today

As we continue through this work week we will see the high pressure that's been brining us the high and dry temperatures start to weaken and break down. As that breakdown occurs the chances for showers and thunderstorms start to increase. Those chances are starting today. We are already seeing a few isolated showers around the county this morning as I am typing up this article. We will continue to see off and on showers throughout the day. You will mainly stay dry for the most part though. A weak disturbance could bring some widespread chances to the county later this evening around 8pm.

I would not expect much in terms of accumulation as the air is still pretty dry and will stay that way until the High really starts to give way. 

Main threats with any showers and storms today and this is even a low risk threat in itself will be some gusty winds. I would not put to much stock or concern in them at this point. The chances are real slim.

Severe weather threat for today form the SPC is a general thunderstorm risk for the western and central portions of the state today.
