Rain will continue tonight

Monday, May 22, 2017 - 9:47am

As of this morning at the weather center we had 1.68 inches of rainfall form last nights rains. We will dry out a little during the day today. However, rain will move back into the county later this evening around 6 or 7pm.

The severe threat is low. Other than some elevated CAPE levels which will trigger some thunderstorm chances. I am not concerned with any damaging winds, hail or tornado concerns around the county for this evening.

As far as additional accumulation for today. I would expect around another tenth to a half of an inch around the county.

I will continue to monitor the models and the radar. As showers and storms approach I will provide updates right here an on social media. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
