A look at the flooding on the Yadkin River

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 - 7:29pm

Over the weekend the rains came to the county and as they did they brought some huge totals of rainfall with them. 5.34 inches here at the weather center in Atwell with anywhere form 3-6 inches around the county. Some of you took the time to send in pictures from what you were seeing as the rains fell like the one below of the soccer fields at Catawba College.

Or the pictures of the aftermath I received like the ones below. The Tuckertown Reservoir

This photo was also submitted by Dalton Howard of flooding on Hannah Ferry Road just south of the Yadkin River

This evening I took the #RoCoDrone over to the Yadkin River bridge near East Spencer and took some photo's of the current water levels around the river. They are below.

As you can see from the photos above the water levels are pretty high at the Yadkin River. There is a flood warning in effect for the river through tomorrow afternoon. There is quite a bit of debris being pulled down the river with all of the water. It will be interesting to see if the levels get any higher at the river.

Finally, I took some video around the Yadkin River with the #RoCoDrone as well today. You can watch it below.
