A look at the aftermath of the Snowfall here at the weather center.

Saturday, January 7, 2017 - 12:47pm

One of my favorite things to do is take the #RoCoDrone out and get some great video and photo's of weather. The best time is one of the rarest times for us in Rowan County. That's when there is snow on the ground. As I was forecasting this storm and reporting on conditions during the storm. The one thought that was on my mind was when the snow was over. I had to get the #RoCoDrone in the air to get some pictures and video. Below you will see what conditions look like in the Atwell area near the weather center. Here are pictures I took this morning while it was still snowing. The conditions were not ideal so I had to bring the drone back down after only a few minutes.

As you can see conditions and visibility were not good at all for flying the #RoCoDrone. I attempted to get video and the feed only lasted for about 36 seconds. So I decided it was best in the interest of my drone and my own safety to bring it back down to the ground and take it back up after the storm was over. The pictures below are the outcome after the storm ended and the skies were beginning to clear.

Now here is video I recorded from the #RoCoDrone as I flew it over the area around the Weather Center. You will see some road conditions below for Corriher Grange Road and Highway 152.

I hope you are enjoying your time in the snow and I really appreciate everyone following my forecast! As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather
