A look back at 2016

Now that we have ended the year. Let's take a look back at a few things tosee how the weather treated us in 2016.

The higest temperature we had in 2016 was 96º if you look at the overall thats only 17th coolest all time for a Max Temprature throughout recorded history for the county. However, this means nothing overall. You'll see what I mean later in this article.

The lowest temperature we had in 2016 was a low of 13º That was the 24th coldest temperature in recorded history for the county. 

The average temperature in Rowan County for 2016 was 60.9º making it the 25th warmest year on record for Rowan County all time.

We had a very dry 2016. With only 30.30 inches of rainfall for the entire year. 2016 was the 5th driest year on record for Rowan County. We finished 2016 with a deficit of 11.73 inches for rainfall. 

We had only 2.1 inches of snowfall for the entire year of 2016. Making this the 52nd lowest snowfall total for a year in the county

So there you have it! 2016 is in the books. I for one form a weather perspective am glad to see it go! Here's to a cooler wetter 2017! We need the rain and I am not a fan of 90º tempertures.
