Saturday Weather Update

Saturday, December 17, 2016 - 8:13am

If you are just waking up this morning. The temperature hovered around 27º last night. The air mass remained extremely dry overnight but we are starting to see signs of more moist warmer air moving in. Boone as of 8am this morning was at 47º Today we will see cloud cover remain in place throughout the day and the thermometer will warm up to the upper 40's and kind of get stuck there for the last half of the day. Let's take a look at what we can expect overall today.

The high will top out around 49º

The winds will be gusty at times as the warm front moves closer to the county. Gust could be around 22 miles per hour.

Rainfall will be very isolated today as most of the moisture we will see this weekend is staying pretty close to the front that's moving our way. Accumulations look to stay confined to the west of Interstate 77 until very late tonight.

The low tonight will bottom out very close to our high as clouds will trap heating from the day in over the county.

Enjoy your Saturday everyone. I will continue to provide updates right here and on social media throughout the day. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
