A Smokey Fall Day in Rowan County

Wednesday, November 16, 2016 - 10:34am

As I begin this weather update. I want to remind you all that a Code Red Air Quality Alert is in place today from smoke being blown across the county from the wildfires in the mountains. Let's continue to keep our friends, family & neighbors from the affected areas in our thoughts and prayers as this is something that is going to linger for sometime now.

The high for us today will be around 67º

The Dew Points outside will make the air feel pleasant. However, it will be very hard to enjoy it with the air quality issues we are going to have throughout the day. I recommend spending as much time inside as possible today.

Winds will be out of the west at around 8mph. The real problem with this is the fact that it will basically move the smoke very slowly across the area throughout the day.

The low tonight will bottom out around 39º

Please remember to keep your outdoor activities very limited today. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
