Areas of Rowan County in abnormally dry drought stage

Thursday, November 10, 2016 - 8:59am

Once again we have areas in the county in abnormally dry conditions. The current streak of days we have had with no measurable rainfall in the county is at 32. 6th all time and just 6 days shy of the record 38 straight days set in November of 2000. There is no clear chance for rain over the next 6 days so we are certainly on pace to tie or even break that record. The drought zoned areas are simply best to identify by saying if you live west of I-85 you are in the abnormally dry conditions.

I would not be surprised to see areas living east of I-85 in abnormal drought conditions by next week when the new update comes out. Let's hope we get some measurable rain soon! I will continue to monitor and provide updates right here and on social media. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
