Friday Night Football Forecast 8/19/16

Friday, August 19, 2016 - 10:28am

If you are a high school football fan. Its the greatest time of the year! Each week right here on rowancountyweather.com I will post forecast updates for what you can expect as you head out to games around the county. Let's take a look at what you can expect from the weather for tonights games around the county.

The temperatures for most of the game will be in the upper 70's but lets take a look at the timeframe I am thinking.

Kickoff

Expect temperatures in the upper 80's by kickoff. The air will feel oppressive. This is somewhat unfortunate as it will make you want to have the poncho or rain coat but not wear it because of how sticky it will feel. Umbrella may be your best bet for staying dry and somewhat comfortable tonight.

Rain chances throughout the first half of the games could see some isolated showers. I am not to concerned about thunderstorms at this point as I feel that activity stays to the south and west.

Please remember the images above are simply what the models feel could be going on and this is not a guarantee. The thing you should take form the images is the fact that rain is a possibility tonight while you are at the games.

Halftime

As the games start to move into halftime temperatures should be down to the upper 70's

Rain is still a likely possibility so it may be a good time to head to the concession areas to dry out.

2nd Half to end of Game

During the second half and as the games begin to wind down. The rain chances will increase a bit as the temperatures will drop a few more degrees but you should still see temps in the upper 70's

The rain if it does increase will build in from the south and slowly drift north. Again I wouldn't expect much but keep that rain gear handy with you at the games.

Of course I will post updates throughout the evening as the games are going on. Peas look for details right here on the website and on my social media outlets. Get out enjoy the games and route for your teams! I am certainly going to come out to some games this year as I have over the past few seasons. If you see me out at a game come up and say hello and lets talk weather!

Enjoy the games and as always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
