Friday Weather Update

Friday, July 22, 2016 - 10:49am

This is the beginning of a really hot weekend ahead. There is a chance we could see some isolated severe storms today with small hail. The real threat today for all of us is the heat that is building in along with oppressive air.

The high today will be around 93º

The dew points will be in the low 70's making the air feel oppressive.

We could see some isolated showers and storms that could contain small hail in them late this afternoon and evening. It is a very small chance so not everyone in the county will get any of this as it does appear to be limited.

Accumulations will be pretty minimal unless you happen to get one of these passing storms.

Please remember these heat safety tips today and all weekend long for your loved ones, your pets and the elderly.

I will post updates right here and on social media if any storms move into the county today. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
