Wednesday Weather Update

Wednesday, July 6, 2016 - 10:56am

After yesterday's strong storms the question on every ones mind is will we see a repeat today. First let me start off by saying not likely. The conditions today are not as favorable for storms to become severe.

The CAPE or (Thunderstorm Fuel) is much lower today and will not be strong enough to provide the spark needed to get storms as strong as yesterday.

The highs today will be in the low 90's to around 92º

The dew points will be in the low to mid 70's making the air outside feel oppressive.

Rain chances are of course there and isolated thunderstorms could develop. I am not looking for much in the way of development this afternoon and evening. The sunshine that pops in and out today will of course make the atmosphere unstable but storms today will be real widespread in my opinion.

I will of course monitor the radar and models throughout the day and provide updates right here and on social media. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
