The main threat will be damaging winds. Other threats include downpours, lightning and hail. Don't get to excited if the clouds part and the sun pops out. If that happens it will just help ramp storms up quickly. The main line will move in around 4 - 5 pm but the threat for isolated showers and storms will exist throughout the afternoon and evening.
Highs today will reach the mid to upper 80's especially if the sun pops out.

The real threat for those damaging winds will begin to occur around the 4 to 5 pm timeframe as that front starts to move through the area.

The CAPE or in laments terms Thunderstorm Fuel will be a little high but not to overly concerning for tornadic activity.

We will see gust around 25mph for the most part with possibilities of gust over 40mph at times.

The main line of storms will zip through the area pretty quickly. As far as rainfall totals most will be light unless you get under a downpour. If that happens you could see accumulations where you are of a quarter to a half of an inch as a possibility.

I will post updates throughout the day as storms begin to fire up and move into the area. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
