Friday Weather Update

Friday, May 20, 2016 - 10:32am

We have been talking for the past few days about a lot of rain moving in to affect some of the activities around the race events this weekend. That activity will begin to move in this afternoon and become a pretty consistent period of rainfall with some moderate to heavy showers along the way. It will be easier to kind of give you an idea of when the activity will start and when the persistent part of it will stop for at least a while during the day on Saturday.

Expect the drizzle we are getting now to move in as more rain around the 1 - 2 pm hours this afternoon.

As I said earlier it would be easier to let you know a start to end time of consistent precipitation the timeframe above is when the more persistent to periods of heavy rain will begin. Below we see that the consistency will become more isolated around 4 - 5 am Saturday morning.

Now this will not mark the end of the rain activity It will just be areas of opportunity to dry out some.

The high temperatures today.

Well as you can see they will only be in the low 60's.

Total rainfall accumulation between now and 4 am Saturday Morning will be at around an inch or more in most areas.

It is going to be a wet miserable day folks. Good day to stay inside and relax. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
