Mothers Day Forecast Update

Sunday, May 8, 2016 - 11:47am

Happy Mothers Day to all of the Mom's out there! Let's take a quick look at how the rest for the day is looking forecast wise. The sun is out and helping temperatures warm up quite nicely. We are on our way to a high in the low 80's to possible mid 80's in some areas around the county.

There is a slight chance we could see an isolated thunderstorm with small hail later this evening between the 7 - 8 pm hour. I am not banking a lot on this but there is enough in the models to get my attention at least.

Not expecting much in the way of accumulation less than a tenth of an inch is likely. Hail will be brief if this does in fact happen.

The real key thing to remember since the temperatures will be in the 80's this week. Do not leave your children or pets in a car that does not have the air conditioning running. Look how quickly the temperature can rise in a car in as little as twenty minutes at 80º

Enjoy your Mothers Day everyone! As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
