A look back at highs and lows around the county for the past 24 hours.

Wednesday, April 6, 2016 - 2:32pm

I along with many others around the state of North Carolina get up every morning and provide information to the National Weather Service through the Cooperative Observer Program. With that the weather service provides an informative map of the previous high and low temperatures for a 24 hour period. We had a freeze warning out for the early morning hours of today and with good reason.

As you can see below High temperatures yesterday around the county were in the mid 50's with reported totals of 54, 55 & 57º

The real totals that made you pull those covers up a little higher when your morning alarm clock went off today were the lows that came in overnight.Lows in the upper 20's to low 30's around the county were reported. 27, 28 & 30º

The real question is was this the coldest start to an April 6th on record for Rowan County? As you can see below the answer to that is no. We had a low of 23º on this date in 2011.

The good news is if you are looking for the warm-up. Next Monday the high is forecasted to be 69º

Just hold on for a few more days and you will be through this. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
