Things to prepare
- make sure your outdoor pets have a warm area to sleep in tonight. Bring them in if possible.
- check on elderly neighbors or relatives to ensure they are warm
- bring your plants up close to your home as the area around your home will keep them warm
- if you wrap plants wrap them in cloth or fabric. do not use plastic as plastic could burn the plant when the sun rises.
- if you can't wrap plants or bring them close to your home. Go outside and water them now so they can get a thin layer of ice on them. This will actually protect the plant and keep it warm.
I will make one more update later tonight about how the temperatures are moderating but as for now it is very likely will will at least get very close to the freezing mark overnight tonight. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
