A washout for Saturday

Saturday, March 24, 2018 - 7:59am

The best way to prepare you for today is by giving you advice. That advice is "It's a good day to stay inside" Rain will be our big issue for the day. Late this evening in the northern portions of the county we could see a rain sleet mix. No concerns for icy accumulation. We will see light rain move in over the next few hours. By around 11am things start to change to a more moderate rainfall.

As we continue through the day rain will continue and by this evening around 5pm we will start to see heavy rain move into the county.

We could see a bit of a break in the rain around 7pm but it will not signal the end. As rain will pick back up and become heavy once again late this evening. We could see some sleet mixing in with rain in the northwest portion of the county round Cleveland. Again no concerns with icy accumulation.

Winds will be gusty at times today with gust of around 20 miles per hour possible.

As far as rainfall accumulation. I am expecting between a half of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rainfall around the county by midnight tonight.

Not only is it going to be wet today it is going to be cold. The high today will only top out a around 43º

The low this evening will bottom out at around 33º

I will of course keep you updated right here and on social media throughout the day and evening. As always thank you for following Rowan County Weather!
