Calling all Artisans

I am proud to announce that Rowan County Weather is now in collaboration with the Rowan County Tourism Development Authority. We plan to bring to you a year-long celebration of agriculture and arts in Rowan County. I will be providing more updates throughout the year right here on the website, as well as on my social media outlets. Here's more information on the events from Rowan Arts & Ag.:

Rowan Arts & Ag, a year-long celebration of agriculture and arts in Rowan County, North Carolina. Visitors and local residents alike will have unique opportunities throughout the year to experience homegrown creativity and flavors. From self-guided tours of farms and artisans, farm-to-table dinners, large outdoor festivals and more; there’s something for everyone.

We’re looking for local artisans to participate in Rowan Arts & Ag! If you create handcrafted pieces of art or handmade items we’d love to hear from you. Sign-up for an opportunity to exhibit and sell your work during our 2018 event schedule.

Types of artisans we are looking for include pottery, wearables, fiber/leather, jewelry, watercolor, photography, sculpture, drawings/graphics, glass, mixed media, painting, metal, woodworking. Items must be made/crafted by them.

The events in which you can attend are as follows.

  • Rowan Arts & Ag Beer Festival on April 7, 2018 in Gold Hill
  • Pops at the Post Arts & Ag Festival Area on June 2, 2018 in Downtown Salisbury
  • Rowan Arts & Ag Farm Tours Weekend on June 2 and June 3, various farms throughout the county
  • Kaleidoscope Arts & Ag Festival on November 3 in Kannapolis (Research Campus)

These are just a small portion of the great events that will be happening around the county as we move through 2018! Rowan County Weather will be posting updates and helping to promote these events and more! Weather forecast specific to these events will also be provided so you can plan ahead!
